It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Seasons 1 & 2
Mac (McElhenney), Charlie (Day) and Dennis (Howerton) star as three best friends who own Paddy's Irish Pub in Philadelphia, along with Dennis' sister Dee (Olson) who works as the bartender. In each episode, these characters have their own self-interest in mind, no matter how unique or mundane the situation. While they generally are interested in making the business successful, they sometimes have a greater interest in scamming one another. Serious issues such as racism, abortion, underage drinking, molestation, cancer and death somehow weave their way into the cockeyed universe of these four 20-somethings. The second season introduced Frank Reynolds (DeVito) as Dennis and Dee's estranged father, who tries to reconnect with his children and rekindle his misspent youth while in the midst of a divorce from their mother Barbara (played by Anne Archer).

My new favorite show
Now that Arrested Development has been laid to rest (RIP), I have found the next best thing.
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is different and funny, in a crossing-moral-lines kind of way. Good for FX that they have the cojones to put this show on.
How can you not laugh when story lines involve trying to take financial advantage of a religious miracle, or considering sleeping with your fiend's mom to get even, or tea-bagging (not the actual act, but, 'nuff said)?
I can only hope this show stays on the air long enough to gain sufficient viewers to not get canceled.Incredibly Funny Show - moviedoug
If your sense of humour is slightly twisted like mine, this is the funniest comedy on tv. Basically the story revolves around four friends who own and work at a bar. They are all just terrible people who constantly find themselves in bad situations usually due to their own selfishness. Danny DeVito comes on board for season two as the father of two of the friends. The show jokes about underage drinking, abortion and homeless people so some people will love the show and some will think it is bad taste. The way they go about the show is very witty so it isn't just low brow humour.Hidden Gem! - jaydjay
This is not your high budget "must see tv" show on the big networks but a fun and quirky little gem that hits all the right notes. It tows the line between a little bit of slapstick, some black humour and a dash of frat boy fun. The episodes are quick and tightly written. The perfect show to pop in the dvd while you scarf down some take-out.
