Sorry, but I just didn't buy this one at all. While the premise sounds good in principle, the show quickly becomes disjointed with poor, unbelivable acting and very little or no chemistry in the cast. The story rambles out of control to a point of childishness & makes so little sense that in the parts where it does, you find yourself way beyond caring either way. This one really is a teeny-bopper style show and it can easily be seen why it was slotted in as a mid-season replacement at best.
It is a shame though that it just wasn't put together better - maybe we've seen too many Irish boys growing up in Boston - style shows & movies nowadays who knows ?Great series cut short early - wongnog
This is a great TV series that combines the violence and writing of The Sopranos with the kind of romance and good looking cast you'd find in Grey's Anatomy. They cast the four brothers brilliantly, and Jonathan Tucker shines as the lead brother Tommy Donnelly. Only 6 episodes aired originally on NBC before being cut short, but in that short time they did a great job of introducing storylines, following up the consequences of the actions of the characters, resolving some storylines, while introducing new ones. If this show had continued I'm sure it could have been a great success. I think putting it in as a mid-season replacement for Heroes (while it was in reruns) was its ultimate fate. If NBC had placed it in the fall, given it adequate promotion, and allowed the episodes to play out as written, perhaps we could have seen a second season. But at least now we get to see all 13 episodes of its first and only season in its entirety.
