Bugsy
He Was The Mob's Biggest Hit.
From Academy Award Winning director Barry Levinson, Academy Award-Winner Warren Beatty, and Academy Award Nominee Annette Bening, comes a classic story of love, power and greed.
Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, a brilliant and violent gangster, leaves his criminal empire in New York to run the powerful rackets in Los Angeles. But his tumultuous affair with a Hollywood starlet inspires him to build something even bigger than his growing infamy -- but not before enraging his criminal backers. And Bugsy will go to any length to see his dream realized, even if it costs him his life.

Bio of a businessman - Spookyfish
If you're looking for a gangster movie, this will leave you disappointed. Rather it's the biopic of an hotheaded, horny and ambitious businessman with only the tiniest bits of gangland atmosphere in there. Perhaps that's accurate, but I'm just warning you all the same.
Regardless, Bugsy and his dame (the two leads) are thoroughly unlikeable characters, making it harder to connect with the movie or even care what happens to them. He's an oversexed bastard and she's a shrill, jealous harpy. I hated them both and the movie didn't do it for me at all.Maybe Not Accurate, But Fun - upwitharts
This depiction of real life gangster Bugsy Siegel was fascinating (just like the real life Siegel) but, we assume, pretty glammed up. Still fun to watch, though, and contemplate the audaciousness of inventing Las Vegas. We are still quoting the "twenty dwarves" mantra/linguistic exercise. Hey, it really does help manage anger!Fantastic Cinema - Kythko
This movie is outstanding. Annette Bening has given an absolutely spectacular performance, as Virginia Hill, as has Warren Beatty, as mobster Bugsy Siegel. The writing was quick, clever, and biting, and the romantic tension unique and resonant. Although long, this film was entirely engrossing - a fascinating portrayal of the establishing of modern day Las Vegas. With characters, sharp dialogue, and visionary direction, this film is an absolute must see.
