Veronica Mars: Season 3
In the wealthy, seaside community of Neptune, California, Hearst College stands as a beacon of higher education. But within this idyllic and sun-drenched campus, higher education is not always what it appears. Between the beer-soaked dorm parties and the all-night cram sessions, the members of the student body are facing a terrifying threat. Luckily for them, freshman and part-time private investigator Veronica Mars is used to taking on a few extracurricular activities. Hoping to leave the ghosts of Neptune High behind her, Veronica is now a freshman at Hearst College, along with her boyfriend, Logan Echolls, and best friends, Wallace Fennel and Cindy "Mac" Mackenzie. But despite the students' efforts to soak up the college experience in their own way, it quickly becomes obvious that some ghosts are here to stay. Even their high school graduation was marred when Veronica's unlikely ally, Eli "Weevil" Navarro, was arrested and dragged out of the ceremony in handcuffs. Add the increasingly dangerous private investigator business run by her father, Keith, to Veronica's spreading reputation around campus as a girl who can fix the unfixable, and it becomes clear that Hearst College has never encountered a student like Veronica Mars before.

Weakest of the three seasons - sophsoph
I was very disappointed with VM Season 3. The other seasons had mini stories within each episode, but they also had a ''master story'' that lasted the whole season. Season 3 lacked that. Consequently, the season felt very choppy and repetitive. It was okay, but it definitely can't compare to season 1 or 2.Still fantastic - eli_quincy
Season 3 is commonly criticized because it doesn't have the season-long story arc that the first two years boasted. Yes, the producers were pressured to move toward a more episodic style, but this is still crackerjack television, superior to almost everything else on the tube. It's too bad the creative minds behind the show weren't allowed to finish it the way they wanted, but this is still well worth watching.Solid TV, but can't deliver the knockout of Season 1 - Elle0Angel
It's rare that shows come storming out of the gate in their first season, but Veronica Mars had a perfect storm of factors to make Season 1 a hit -- a feisty teen heroine fallen from the A-list to the D-list at her high school in Neptune, California, an excellent supporting cast and an intertwined mystery (including a murdered best friend, date rape, and a deadbeat mom). The character and the audience were constantly reeling from one crisis to the next, all of which dove-tailed beautifully.
Season 3, like Season 2, suffers more from the comparison to Season 1, but for different reasons. Characters like Logan and Wallace don't have much to do and become one-note. Breaking the season into multiple mysteries was a good idea on paper, but the campus rape plot and the murder mystery plot rehash a lot of Season 1's ground without keeping the emotional stakes as sharp for Veronica.
The bonus features include a 12-minute look at what might have been with Season 4 (Veronica joins the FBI), which is interesting to fans of the series but suggests that format would also be unable to top past storylines.
Season 3 is a solid piece of television and superior to a lot of current programming, but Season 1 is all you need to get the low-down on Veronica Mars.
