Excellent TV Series - newdaysof
Filmed in black and white in the 50's and early 60's, the show holds up very well and is one of my favourites. Each episode is a well-crafted tale of suspense, mystery, intrigue and usually murder, with a surprising twist at the end.
The production values are good, and the actors are all top-notch. Many up and coming Hollywood actors made their debut on this show. This DVD has half a dozen episodes, the first one contains a very young William Shatner doing an excellent job narrating a story in flashback. Jack Klugman is in one episode, Jean Hagen in another and many other great actors who you may or may not recognize. All the stories are written by top-notch writers and were usually based on their short stories.Good, creepy fun - Sheenie
Back in the days when there was no gore or nudity on television, it took a good plot and decent acting to get people's attention. That's what this series delivers. Alfred Hitchcock had a way of spinning an unusual story that kept audience's attention. Half the fun is identifying all the famous actors before they hit it big!
