24: Season 6
Season six picks up 20 months after last season’s shocking season finale, when Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) was captured by Chinese government agents – battered, bloodied and headed for points unknown. Wayne Palmer (DB Woodside), the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer, is now the President of the United States, and is aided by his sister Sandra Palmer (Regina King), a powerful advocacy lawyer.
After a series of horrific terrorist attacks, Palmer and his team of advisors, Karen Hayes (Jayne Atkinson) and Thomas Lennox (Peter MacNicol) – as well as CTU colleagues Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), Curtis Manning (Roger Cross) and Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) – begin an unthinkable nail-biting day.

This series is addictive! Lots of twists and turns, and the real-time format adds to the suspense. There are some holes in the storyline of course (the running joke that Jack never goes to the bathroom or eats) but it is suspenseful and habit forming and not one to miss!24’s 6th season: OK, but a bit of a let-down - eyewitness
Jack seems to be growing tired and annoyed with his many seasons of torturing and being tortured, and now the viewers are also getting tired and annoyed due to the repeating routine of escape-capture, escape-capture. We can’t help but feel worn out this season.
With his post-incarceration body/performance, Kiefer Sutherland’s willingness to fully commit himself to the part is phenomenal this season. Even when predictable, the series remains remarkably good viewing. The Beginning of the End? - theJuliosof
It's strange how the best season of 24 was followed by the worst. Day 6 broke the tradition of a good season of 24 being followed by great one. Season 2 was better than season 1, season 3 was better than season 2, and so on. I agree that this season is definitely the weakest of them all. What happened? Lazy writing? Overconfidence? It's hard to say. It began promising enough, the first four hours were great, but then the show went off a cliff after the nuclear bomb explosion. In no manner did it deal with the destruction and fallout caused by the nuke. That would have been a good premise, but the writers ditched it. Another factor that damaged Day 6 was bringing back Charles Logan and his ex-wife Martha and then suddenly taking them out of the picture. They're back for a brief moment and then forgotten, never to be seen again. Did Charles die? Did Martha commit suicide? These questions are unanswered. So what was the point? In retrospect, it would have been better if they were never brought back in the first place. Hopefully, we'll see more of them next season.
The third factor was the loss of many great characters in season 5. They are all sorely missed, as this new cast is so inferior to what we had before. Their deaths made season 5 a great revenge story, but now the show is suffering the consequences. It all went too far when Tony was killed off. With his wife Michelle dead, Tony had become even more like Jack, making him the only character who could have carried the show if Sutherland ever decided to drop out. Fortunately, he returns next season (it will be very interesting to see how the writers explain that one). I agree with the reviewer who pointed out that Jack's lack of emotional investment in anyone is a handicap.
So what will make Day 7 better? I guess the writers could bring back more characters from previous seasons, like Chase or the woman who blew up the airplane in season 1, tried to assassinate Palmer at the end of season 2, and to
