The Wire: Season 4
No Corner Left Behind
With the fall of Barksdale and the ascent of young Marlo Stanfield as West Baltimore's drug king, the detail continues to "follow the money" up the political ladder in the midst of a mayoral election that pits the black incumbent, Clarence Royce, against an ambitious white councilman, Tommy Carcetti. The theme of urban education is explored through four new characters: Michael Lee, Namond Brice, Randy Wagstaff and "Dukie" Weems as they traverse adolescence in the stunted, drug-saturated streets of West Baltimore. The world that awaits these boys and the American commitment to equal opportunity are depicted brilliantly in the edgy, all too realistic Season 4 of The Wire.

Season 4 Amazing - KHARD
First off, if you're this far into the show and looking to get season 4, you already know that this is possibly the best television program ever created. No, I don't think that is hyperbole. Amazing writing, great acting, no soap opera bull.
Many people view season 4 as the ultimate in the series, I think it is better to view each season as an insular masterpiece, each one no better than the other, all brilliant, all memorable, all important.
With that said, you can't appreciate The Wire as a whole without viewing all its parts, so do what is right: see this season, soldier on for season 5 once you are done. The only thing you have to lose is any vestiges of respect you still possess for the drivel currently on TV.Remarkable - ABC99
The Wire Season 4 not only represents the best season of the best television show ever created. It is the best free standing form of media I have ever experianced. It is impossible to overstate of scope of this great show and how heartbreakingly honest it is evening dealing with the lives of children in poverty. The Wire never relents or loses its nerve in favor of sentimentality. It show us on empire in decline and the casualties that we choose to ignore.
It shows how crimes are solve and the culprits are replaced by younger and more relentless villian. It shows how faith in institutions and their leaders are is a fools game. The fact that children are the theme just rings so true and it is so great. A flawless, brilliant show that will define television.

Best season yet and that is saying something! Just finished disc 4! Can hardly wait to see the final season - heard its even better! Hard to imagine. The convergence of race and class is shown in a brilliant way and also with great acting and story lines. Baltimore seems to illicit great stories from the Homicide series to The Wire! Will be sorry to see the series end!
