I loved this movie as a kid. I read the book years later, and I liked how closely it portrayed it, which is SO RARE these days!! The music is second to none, and the visuals are even in COLOUR, which is a big plus. The acting is over the top, but it totally works.I love to see the Wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz. - mxg123
This movie is packed with lessons for young and old persons. I have seen this movie many times, and I was still impressed by seeing it once more. I loved Toto the way he was acting throughout this movie. Only once I saw that he was really scared, and that is when the can man pushed smoke out of his hat and made noise; Toto got scared. This movie is all about being with good friends, what is truly inside us, and to remember there is no place like home as it is a very special place for all of us. It is too bad that it was not filmed in a 16X9 version, because it did look good by a Blu-ray DVD, but just the size of the movie was a disappointment. What a classic! We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz - hilkayaker
This movie is such a classic. I can't believe they originally wanted Shirley Temple to play Dorthy!! So glad it ended up being Judy Garland, she has such an amazing voice and shows great talent as an actress even at this young age. The musical numbers, songs, dancing is all fantastic. This is a story every child knows and loves. Glenda the white witch is so beautiful and the flying monkey are scary and funny at the same time. All children should see this movie growing up.
