The Riches: Season 1
They're stealing the American Dream.
Since Wayne Malloy (Eddie Izzard) can't buy the American Dream, he's going to steal it! The Malloys are Travelers, con artists living one step ahead of the law, and now, together with his wife (Minnie Driver) and children, Wayne is pulling his biggest scam ever. They assume the identity of a family living a privileged life in an exclusive suburban development. But, with nosy neighbors, vengeful fellow Travelers and the authorities hot on their trail, can they possibly pull it off? The Riches is an engaging and offbeat drama infused with wickedly dark humor so original and captivating that to miss it would be a crime!

"It takes a while to get started and is a little over-the-top in it's depiction of both white trash and Gated garbage, but The Riches succeeds where it counts."
It's been a few years since Minnie Driver has wowwed me in a performance (Good Will Hunting) and Now The Riches puts the british starlet back on the map for me. The unusual and strange FX series gives you characters to root for, characters who you want to watch.
My only regret is never knowing about the Show when released on TV in 2007-2008. And sadly The Riches survived only 2 season. Its a shame that creative show with different premises never seem to last and shows like CSI & 24 last countless lackluster seasons with every episode a new carbon copy of its last.brilliant dark humour - murphy
It is a shame this series was cancelled in the second season. The writing is sharp, witty, with a biting, dark humour overlaying some serious social commentary. Eddie Izzard was brilliant, and Minnie Driver excelled. Get the two seasons worth and enjoy some fine tv - a rarity all too often. If you liked West Wing, you will like The Riches.Could have been better.. - Cricri7
I just watched the first disc of The Riches but I probably won't be going further. All the elements for a good series are there but the product quite does not deliver. You have a family of thieving gypsies, a son that wants to be a girl and they are taking the place of a normal family. On top of it, the actors are excellent. Minnie Driver can be very funny, just remember her scenes with Megan Mullally in Will and Grace, but the actors don't have quite the material to deliver.
I am not saying that this is a bad series, but I have seen much better.
