ER: Season 8
Excitement. Suspense. Joy. Grief. All in a heartbeat. Twenty-two of the best, most compelling hours on television unfold in this powerful, series-changing Season 8 of ER.
New hopefuls Army Reservist Michael Gallant and brash Gregory Pratt arrive to face the challenges of Trauma One life. A familiar face Dr. Susan Lewis returns. Benton weighs career and family. Malucci crosses the line once too often. Chen defies demotion. And Greene fights what could be his last battle, leaving a void at the group's heart.
His leadership may never be replaced. But someone must step into the breach. That someone is the doctor who's now been in the ER the longest the former student who seemed to have the most to learn: Dr. John Carter.

Good show at the beginning but ran it's course... and then kept going... - Sheenie
I liked this show when it first came out. It was different (it had been a while since a prime time hospital show had been on air) and it had George Clooney. This series made him famous but he'd had roles in different series for years (starting with "The Facts of Life") so I had a crush on him long before ER came out, which makes me somehow more entitled to him than other people... Anyway, it started out really good but went downhill. Too many bad twists and turns to keep it going and suddenly someone is gay because that was the trendy thing to do in Hollywood at the time. You might like the series to begin with but expect it to lose steam if you watch to the end.Amazing show - hilkayaker
I love this show. I grew up watching it and it is even better then I remember. This is an amazing season. The actors are great, good story line and fantastic drama. Mark's episode always makes me cry. I greatly recomend this show. But the season ends on a cliff-hanger so make sure you have season 9 disc one soon to see the continuation.Darker but still the same characters - Anon1832
As the seasons go on, the ER seems to become a more unhappy place - but because the original characters are still there, with some returning, it's enjoyable. It does seem like every season they have to top the last in terms of personal tragedy. Unfortunately they change the actress portraying Rachel Greene, so from being a sweet kid, she's now a rebellious bad girl - they often feel they can get away with that, but part of the joy of watching a series is seeing how the characters mature.
