Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (Blu-ray)
2-Disc Unrated Edition
Contains the 96-Minute Theatrical Version and the 120-Minute "American Cox: The Unbearably Long, Self-Indulgent Director's Cut"
One of the most iconic figures in rock history, Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) had it all: the women (over 411 served), the friends (Elvis, The Beatles) and the rock 'n' roll lifestyle (a close and personal relationship with every pill and powder known to man). But most of all, he had the music that transformed a dimwitted country boy into the greatest American rock star who never lived. A wild and wicked send-up of every musical biopic ever made, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story is gut-busting proof that when it comes to hard rocking, living and laughing, a hard man is good to find.

Walk Hard is a clever comedy but most of the time not a laugh out loud one. It follows the the format of a musical biopic but has some major issues in tone. It moves from satire to slapstick and while some of the subtle humour works most of the Naked Gun gags fall pretty flat.
John C Riley is predictibly good in the lead and as a comedy it is better than average. Just not as good a it could be if it was more focusedNice Zip Find - baam
I wouldn't have even taken a 2nd look at this movie on the shelves, but it was recommended on my home page and had decent reviews. I got a few laughs, my husband got even more. It was a nice light movie and certainly had its moments. Gets a little slow near the end, but I find that's always the case with this style of comedy.Very Funny - JamesTG
When we received this blu-ray, I wasn't expecting very much, I thought it would be one of those dumb comedies that I just don't get. Was I ever wrong.
John C. Reilly does a great job in this film. Both my wife and I were laughing from start to finish.
Walk hard is now one of my top 10 movies.
NOTE: GO INTO THE OPTIONS AND TURN ON THE EXTENDED VERSION, WELL WORTH WATCHING IT THE WAY IT WAS MEANT BY THE DIRECTOR.
