Semi-Pro (Blu-ray)
Let's Get Sweaty 2-Disc Unrated Edition
Will Ferrell stars in Semi-Pro, an outrageous comedy set in 1976 against the backdrop of the maverick ABA - a fast-paced, wild and crazy basketball league that rivaled the NBA and made a name for itself with innovations like the three-point shot and slam dunk contest. Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, a one-hit wonder who used the profits from the success of his chart-topping song "Love Me Sexy" to achieve his dream of owning a basketball team. But Moon's franchise, the Flint Michigan Tropics, is the worst team in the league and in danger of folding when the ABA announces its plans to merge with the NBA.

I like Will Ferrell, I think he's one of the few good comedic actors on the big screen to come from SNL, but this movie is not good. Maybe I expected more because it had Ferrel in it and expected too much, but either whatever the case, I was disapointed. Nudity thrown in for no apparent reason. There also seemed to be a strange mix of 70's and current culture which didn't work so well.Another Solid Addition - vsodhi
Will Ferrell adds to his impressive comedic resume with a film about a fictional basketball league that struggles to cope with the emergence of the NBA. As the coach, owner, and member of a franchise in the struggling league, Ferrell’s character must turn his teams fate around to be merged into the NBA or face being dissolved. Semi-pro fails to deliver the home run laughs and comedic genius that his past hits such as Old School and Anchorman do, but certainly holds it’s own as a slapstick comedy. Most fans of Ferrell will enjoy this film and take it for what it is.Soooo Not Funny - mermer87
I honestly can't figure out why I keep subjecting myself to Will Ferrell movies. They just keep getting worse and worse. This was definitely the least funny of all of his movies I have seen. This movie was so not funny that it was practically a drama with really bad acting. I think if I am in the mood for a ridiculous comedy from now on I will stick to Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler movies.
