jPod: Season 1
Based on the Best Selling Novel by Douglas Coupland
The jPod universe chronicles the amoral, lighthearted and often shocking lives of five 'Podsters." Set in an isolated work area inside the global headquarters of video gaming giant, Neotronic Arts. Ethan Jarlewski (David W. Kopp; Stargate: SG-1, Psych) and four co-worker pals are bureaucratically marooned in the basement all because of the Y2K virus and the simple fact that their surnames begin with the letter 'J."
The Podsters' lives are far from normal and they routinely deal with dim-witted bosses, sexual debauchery, gang warfare and gore-laced game designs. jPod also follows the lives of Ethan's seemingly ultranormal parents, Jim and Carol Jarlewski (Alan Thicke; Growing Pains and Sherry Miller; Queer as Folk). Jim and Carol are the new post-middle class, now enmeshed in growing marijuana, biker gangs and ballroom dancing.
Full of amusing and evil twists, jPod is ultimately about the new relationships and modes of being that wem as citizens of this strange new century, are creating as we move forward. There is no map into the unknown, but we do have these five kids with a lot of heart and plenty of dark humour to lead the way.

Well, while it seems silly to write a review for all three disks for one season, I found the humour a bit darker for these 4 episodes over the first disk. The porn industry, heroin, and corrupt Communist China business are the targets this time around, complete with a very McGuyver-esque call for rescue on the part of Cowboy. Definitely worth a watch, I'm disappointed this show only lasted one season.off-beat and witty - earhartlives
Based on Douglas Coupland's amazing and funny novel, jPod is definatly a hidden gem. With off-beat humour and surprising insights, this show is perfect for fans of pop culture, technology, and Coupland. Bonus: It's an entirely Canadian production!!!!!!!A Great Canadian Show for nerds - minime283
This is based on the book JPod which is inspired by the Electronic Arts Studio in Burnaby. It is very funny and great Canadian talent. If you're into video games or culture in general you'll find it very funny. It's a shame that CBC cancelled this series.
