Get Smart
Saving the world... and loving it.
Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS.
When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the only other agent whose identity has not been compromised: the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). As Smart and 99 get closer to unraveling KAOS' master plan - and each other - they discover that key KAOS operative Siegfried (Terence Stamp) and his sidekick Shtarker (Kenneth Davitian) are scheming to cash in with their network of terror. Given little field experience and even less time, Smart - armed with nothing but a few spy-tech gadgets and his unbridled enthusiasm - must defeat KAOS if he is to save the day.

The movie was ok. It was more action movie than comeday and I think it missed the mark because of that. Steve saved the day simply by playing the lead and using some of his humour to pull the movie along. I wish movies that remake an old premise just stick to the humour and what made the original funny. Instead they get caught up in trying to make the movie relevant to a modern audience and lose the quality that made it popular in the first place.Surprising - OZZY
I like Steve Carrel, which is why we gave this a shot. I expected the same crap as Inpector Gadget (Matthew Broderick) or the Pink Panther (Steve Martin), however the humor in this far exceeded those films and my expectations. The acting was great, and the jokes were a good combination of not being to crude for children to enjoy, but not being to childish for parents to enjoy. I highly reccomend this one.better than i thought - Shaysma
Get Smart is a remake of a TV classic. I never have seen the original show, so I cannot base a comparison to this movie, but as a straight up movie without being biased to the original, I say it was okay. Not laugh my butt off funny, but it had it's moments of funny. It was kinda predictable at times, but it does have some good action (for those who need it). No nudity, very little in the way of profanity. Overall, not a bad comedy, something you could watch with your parents.
