After hearing so many bad things about this movie I wasn't expectting much. So, of course, it ended up being better than I thought it would. I thought the whole aien story didn't fit very well, but I did like the search for archeological treasues and fighting the bad guys (this time the soviets) that make Indiana Jones movies what they are. I think I prefer the WWII, Nazi storyline a little more, but then I also appreciate the writers wanting to add a little realisim into the story to show the passage of time and eras to keep in line with the main character's aging. I also like the touch of brining back one of the original cast from the first movie. Overall, not the best one (the first was is and always will be), but not the worst either.Predictable - Louise
I can tell what they are trying to do here, revive a franchise with a new main character so that it can continue. The older Indiana films are much better, even though they lack the special effects that movies are capable of today. The story line is pretty well exactly like other Indy films. I can forgive how bad this movie is if they make a much better one next, it is clear that they want LeBoeuf to continue with the franchise so I'll wait and see.You can't win them all... - filmgeek
Oh well. Nothing lasts forever. The cast tries hard, but it is like the heart has just gone out of the series.
It is fun to watch Cate Blanchette play a villain, but not fun enough to save the movie. Ford is still enjoyable in the role, but the material he has to work with is very sub-par compared to the last three films.
Not Recommended (with regret, I really wanted to enjoy this movie).
