Consistently Impeccable - Lark
Always a masterclass in understatement, quality writing, restrained acting and astute direction - it's an American treasure. Character and values without sanctimony or schmalz, this is a fantastic family show for all ages, and while I'm heartbroken it's ending, it's also very smartly going out on a high note, having maintained its integrity and quality througout 4 excellent seasons.Improvement over Season 2 - eli_quincy
For "Friday Night Lights," the pinnacle of the show will likely always be its magnificent, self-contained first season. While the much-maligned second season wasn't actually as bad as many made it out to be, it still took some of the characters in illogical directions (anyone remember The Swede?). Season 3 rights the ship and gets back to the show's trademark: solid storytelling, wonderful atmosphere and great acting.Another strong season - Cinephreak
After Season II was cut short by the Writer's Strike, Season III picks up months later. For some, this may be frustrating, but the show demonstrates its strength in the writing as the background of what has been missed is revealed throughout the season. The ending makes the viewer eager to see season IV.
Remember Season IV and V have been confirmed so there is at least two more years (13 episodes a year) of this amazing show.
Realistic characters, amazing stories and finally a show that is not about the rich but about real people, real problems and real life.
