At this point the series is almost done. Some of the shows were god and as always it makes you laugh from time to time, but it isn't fresh and new as it was at one point. You have ti rent this because you want to see how the seasons will end it, but you can see the difference fro mthe beginning to the end.good timing - outlander78
Corner Gas was the best comedy on TV, better than anything else I have seen since. It has no laugh track, quirky characters that are still real(ish), and a lot of intelligent wordplay to go with the slapstick bits. The show does not resort to dirty jokes, sexual innuendo etc (except for a great episode about the size of your cell phone). In short, it is a great sitcom for all - enjoy it.
I read that Corner Gas was attending with dismay, but understood that they wanted to finish strong. If the show had ended after three seasons, it would have ended at its peak. By now the jokes are standard, the cast well-rehearsed but have lost some intangible thing, and this is merely a good Canadian sitcom. On the upside, they went out with a good season, and did not embarass themselves with stunts or desperation moves. I hope all of the actors are proud of their work, and I thank them for putting on such a good show. The End of chilli cheese dogs and Ruby daily specials. - movie_goer
It's obvious that Brent Butt and his team of players have exoisted all avenues and need to do the final curtian call.
But Not without a few good odd gems in the season that have you rolling over laughing-hysterically. Like: Cat River Daze & Good Tubbin'. It's sad to say good bye to a show that brought Canadians together and made me appreciate my nieghbor province (Saskatchwan). Butt turn around the insults into jokes and rolled out Characters that where relatable, memorable and most importantly Likable. And without further ado i say: "Good bye Dog River it's been great." I'm crossing my fingers, Maybe a CBC special presentation will pop out of the wood works?
But atleast i still have the reruns!
