I didn’t want to see this series at first because every time I saw Tim Roth on TV in “Lie to me” he seems so arrogant and the scenery looked just plain. But, my husband was interested so, I rented season 1. It is very smart and I really appreciate the psychology of lies and their consequence even the consequence of truth that can be worst than a lie. I even begin to like Tim Roth and I certainly will watch season 2.You are lying! - Cobata
This show is my favorite, its awesome. You learn a lot from every episode on how people react, and how you can detect truth or fib by their facial expression. This show is great because its not like a lot of the other programs out there that has nothing but killing. The story lines in this show keep you connected and wanting more. Hope this show gets renewed for more years to come, its highly recommended if you are looking for some new away from the same old stuff that's usually on TV.Very highly recommended! - Solangel
I am a psychology student currently learning all about the facial expression of emotion, and our interpretation and recognition of thee expressions. Dr. Paul Ekman is a real pioneer in this field and his work is fascinating. He actually guided the scientific basis of the series. These fascinating concepts plus the main actor Tim Roth (whos character is based on Dr. Ekman) make for one of the most enjoyable and stimulating shows. Period.
The idea of a real, stimulating dialogue on truth, lying and interpersonal relationships makes this show apealing for everyone, because we all worry about how to communitace with others and how to hide what we don't want them to know - and most especially how to know what others don't want us to know.
You'll find yourself taking mental notes for later (because the information given on non-verbal communication is based on Dr. Ekman's decades of scientific research) and having a great time with the drama!
