This one is worth watching!!! - KWNightwalker
I watched this film with it first hit the movie network so many moons ago. I loved the movie, and the acting through out the movie was top notch. Patrick Swayze and heck even funny man from Two and Half Men in this one....Charlie Sheen.
One of the gals in the movies later plays in the Dirty Dancing movie with Patrick. This not something that happens everyday in this film...but you never know it could....I could watch this movie again and again...I give it FIVE STARS!!Guns and Tears - FilmJunkie
A ridiculously conservative Americana flick about the 'inevitable' attacks of the communist union of Russia and Cuba on American soil. This film represents all the absurd fears Americans hold dear that inspire them to have a gun to each household and fear communism like it was the black plague.
The film follows a group of teenagers who escape the attacks on their high school by taking off in a pick-up truck and living off the land. The teens learn to survive as well as shoot all kinds of weaponry to kill of the commies. We never really understand how they got these weapons, or how they learned to use them, but instead we are forced to understand that these children, and indeed all Americans, have a killer instinct that will always save them from the red menace.
There is an insane amount of crying in this soppy mess of an action flick. The script is horribly cliche and the acting is on a whole other level of 80's schlock.
Unforgettably cheesy propaganda.WOLVERIIIIIIINES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - StEpHuLAr
An all-star cast at the time, or rather, a cast of quite a few unknowns (some who would eventually take over the movie industry in the late 80's, early 90's) Red Dawn while dated, is still rather entertaining. It's Communism vs the USA, and at the time, was quite a scary subject. Although not pertinent to today's world, if you look at it with the right perspective like ID4 or Jurrassic Park, quite enjoyable.
OVERALL RATING: 7/10
