Funny People (Blu-ray)
Includes Both the Unrated (153 mins) and Theatrical (146 mins) Versions!
Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann star in this seriously funny film from writer-director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up).
When famous comedian George Simmons (Sandler) is given a second chance at a new beginning, he and his assistant, a struggling comedian, Ira (Rogen), return to the places and people that matter most - including the stand-up spots that gave him his start and the girl that got away (Mann).
Co-starring Jonah Hill, Eric Bana and Jason Schwartzman, it's the film critics cheer is "uproariously funny!" (Sonny Bunch, The Washington Times)

Great cast, interesting idea, but far too drawn out. There were funny moments but the movie just took way too long. I enjoyed it for about the first hour then I started getting bored and stopped paying attention. I loved Schwartzman and Eric Bana but other than that the movie didn't really keep my interest. Was funny for the first 40 minutes - A3sthetix
Funny People pushed my threshold for jokes involving private parts. It's funny at the beginning, but the jokes don't improve or develop. I was hoping the humour would become more intelligent as the movie progresses, but I was wrong. I finished the movie and felt it was a waste of my time.
If you want silly and crass humour, this is a movie for you. Look elsewhere if you want something enriching. This movie never ends - TCMaddict
A ruthless film editor could have put together a really good movie by cutting this down to about an hour and a half. As it is, it's 146 minutes long (and that's the short version). Most scenes meander away from the story in a hit-and-miss pursuit of one-liners. The resulting movie is just entertaining enough that you won't hit the eject button, but you'll probably think about it.
