I am not sold on this series as yet. It seems like Voyager. Far from home and able to contact home but no way tio get there. I also think there are way to many main characters to keep track of. On the good side it seems some love triangle drama may be brewing. As well as some major internal conflict. I geuss time will tell if I keep watching this series. I loved SG1 and Atlantis.Too bad SG1 and Atlantis were killed - MilosFan
SG1 started as one of the most interesting SF franchises after Star Trek. It broke records in number of viewers and satisfied multiple fan generations. Atlantis took the story to Pegasus, and brought new bad guys on the stage; losing the momentum, got cancelled.
SGU in a couple of words: lack of new ideas, lack of imagination, lack of science, AND worse, lack of fiction. Only sex and drama. And vice versa. Wrong people on the wrong spaceship? No.
Only wrong script on the wrong channel.Worth watching - palmtree
Really a quality sci-fi series. It is not at all like the other "Stargate" series. This one looks and feels darker, more serious, and is very character driven. Feels more like Battlestar Galactica (camera work and sets), mixed with Apollo 13 (having to solve spaceship problems with only the tools they have) mixed with Lost (huge cast, thrown together in a survival situation), mixed with Star Trek (discovering other worlds, as well as character relationships/weird science.) I think it is a great mix and works well. It has real suspense, without too much violence. Looking forward to the next seasons.
