Review - The September Issue - maw-
I loved this documentary. Although we don't really learn that much about how the issue comes together (I agree with other reviewers that is was weak in that respect), it was so fascinating to see the people involved, and especiallly the dynamic between Grace Coddington and Anna Wintour. Grace is definitely someone you would want to hang out with and talk to; Anna Wintour comes across as exactly the arctic ice queen she is made out to be, EXCEPT when she is shown interacting with her daughter. Well thank goodness there is some tenderness there! There is also a moment when they are interviewing her at home, and she just seems a bit fragile; something is defiitely simmering underneath. While viewing the extras I realized that this was filmed during the time that her former assistant Isabella Blow had committed suicide. I don't think anyone but Anna could have continued with the filming! A very scary woman. The extras are fantastic. Andre Leon Talley is hysterical.Great impression movie - LilyandMick
This movie was all about fashion business and it's just pretty to look at. The life around the fashion business is really tough and it will always depend on person's feeling and mode. The most interesting part was the daughter's comment about fashion business in general.Very Fashionable!!! - 0930tracey
As someone who reads Vogue religiously, I found this movie enchanting. This movie focuses on the making of "The September Issue", Vogues largest issue of the year. The fashion is gorgeous, and it was lovely to see Anna Wintour's "softer" side, when visiting with her daughter, whom ironically wans nothing to do with fashion. Only die-hard fashionistas will love it.
