Pretty funny - sometimes hit and miss - lookingjust
A good quirky tv sitcom - one of the better U.S. ones I've seen in a while and typical of the non network cable companies, likes to stretch boundaries a bit. A very good little cast (including Jane Lynch before she began Glee). All in all very much worth renting - a few of the episodes don't seem to work quite as well as others, but still - better than 90% of the network sitcoms at its worst. Can't wait for season 2 to start coming. Please Rent Me - MacAskill
All but impossible to find or see here in Canada, this series (there are two of which I am aware) captures the very surrealistic life of being a caterer - typically an out of work actor, comedian, or writer - who works at parties for the rich and usually self-indulgent. Having worked in show business, and having been at catered events, it's especially funny (and occasionally uncomfortable in a Ricky Gervais/Larry Sanders sense), and absolutely worth adding to your list...Not bad for the first season - udet
The first season of Party Down is pretty uneven. Some episodes are spectacular, in developing characters and situations both hilarious and poignant. When it tries to hard to be funny though is when it flops and just becomes tedious. The good thing is there are only a few instances in the first season. Ken Marino as the leader of the crew is fantastic.
