Outstanding cinema from a mainstream network - michael3
LOST is an example of the quality of writing, acting, directing and FX that can be provided by mainstream networks. This quality is usually only delivered by HBO.
LOST keeps you riveted with the character development, scenery and plot twists that unfold as the story is told.
The Finale is well done and wraps up most of the questions raised.. but still leaves enough for viewer interpretation.
This one is definitely worth the time.resolution - gnox
I agree with the previous reviewer that the ending -- especially the final episode -- is up to the previous standard of the series, in fact raises the level of the series as a whole. But i'm not about to watch it all again -- once is quite enough. It was very entertaining, and i wouldn't say all those hours were lost, but also hope to devote future viewing hours to something that penetrates a little deeper, without relying quite so much on guns, explosions and beatings.Fitting Answers to a Fabulous Series - ArcAngelMD
I'm surprised by the negative response some reviewers have had to the finale of Lost (and the season itself). I found the final season hard to turn off and I essentially watched the entire final season over a two week period.
All of my questions were answered in an elegant manner that makes it hard to believe that this wasn't all planned out since the beginning. The finale was also fantastic and I think provided a fitting end to the series. I especially like the final shot which played a bit of a homage to the past.
I think we are so used to shows being cancelled we do not know what to make of closure when we get it. Similar reactions happened to Battlestar Galactica, which also was beautifully done. Lost is definitely worth seeing. I will be watching it again from the beginning soon!
