Better Than Other Stargates, Short Of Battlestar - grantalias
You can see that Stargate Universe is trying to emulate Battlestar Galactica's epic story telling. There are the flawed characters that refuse to work together even at the detriment of the rest of the crew. Much like Star Trek DS9 was a break from the regular Star Trek TNG.
While there are short comings I found the first season really good. Twists in plot and characters.
While not up to BSG level it certainly is more mature and dark than past Stargate series.Starting to grow on me - JudoKitten
Well the love triangle angle has blown up. Cloe is a bit of an outsider now that Lt. Scott feels betrayed. They are in a new Galaxy and a pack of hateful Aliens are tracking them. With so many twists and turns I really don't care if they get control of the ship, I want to see the repair robot go to work though. Can not wait for the next installment.Awesome sci-fi adventure! - palmtree
A great adventure set in the Stargate universe, but quite different from Stargate SG1 and Atlantis. More character driven, and more complicated, darker storylines. The heroes are more "real" and flawed, nothing is black and white. Plots are good, and the acting is pretty good. Dr. Rush and Eli are the best characters. Feels like Battelstar Galactica as far as filming and cinematography.
