In this season, the producers decided to make better use of their ensemble cast by giving supporting characters more to say and do; this was especially true of the affable fellows working in the cop shop.
It's amazing how much this increased character development improved this show. The changes made may have been small, but they resonated enough to make me look forward all the more to season 3.Outstanding Dramedy Continues in 2nd Season - Old_Video_Man
This is a fun detective series, similar in romantic tension to Remington Steele and Moonlighting. It's not often that you see 2 Canadians starring in an ABC US television series, but Nathan Fillion, an Edmonton native, and Stana Katic, born in Hamilton are seamless as a detective novelist and homicide investigator, thrown together to solve often bizarre murders in often bizarre ways.
Throw in an excellent cast, particularly Castle's mother and daughter (Susan Sullivan & Molly C. Quinn) and you've got great fun and great mystery.
