Red Riding: 1983
A thrilling trilogy of films (Red Riding: 1974, Red Riding: 1980 & Red Riding: 1983) based on David Peace's cult noir novels about Yorkshire during the 1970s and 80s.
Nine years on, another Morley child has gone missing on her way home from school.
Detective Chief Superintendent Maurice Jobson is forced to remember the very similar disappearance of Clare Kemplay, who was found dead in 1974, and the subsequent imprisonment of local boy Michael Myshkin.
Washed-up local solicitor John Piggott becomes convinced of Myshkin's innocence and begins to fight on his behalf, unwittingly providing a catalyst for Jobson to start to right some wrongs.

Red Riding Trilogy - Blanche
This series is grim. The notes accompanying the disc read a lot more hopefully than the story plays out. In its category "film noir" the "noir" is bleakness itself. That said, the acting is perfect, although it takes a while to get into the Yorkshire sound and some lines are lost. It behooves a viewer to watch these in succession so the parade of characters is not forgotten as many turn up in all three films, and there are considerable flashbacks, too. Expect violence; police brutality doesn't have rules.A good series - matheos
Red Riding is an unconventional film series relating three era and three interconnected cases having in common corruption at every level in a British county and police station. Each film portrays a different hero, a police detective, in their throughout investigations which no one want to succeed. Each film has some long parts (a little boring) in the middle with
quick wrap-up at the end where we realize that these parts were somewhat necessary. The environment and era is well portrayed.
