Parks and Recreation: Season 1
From the people who bring you The Office comes Parks and Recreation, the hilarious saga of government employees and local citizens turning a neighborhood hole in the ground into a new public park. Comedy superstar Amy Poehler (Saturday Night Live, Baby Mama) stars as Leslie Knope, an ambitious and hopeful small town government worker, whose dreams are way bigger than her political talents. Created by Primetime Emmy Award winners Greg Daniels (The Office, King of the Hill, The Simpsons) and Michael Schur (The Office, SNL), and featuring a stellar ensemble cast, Parks and Recreation is a "genuinely funny" (Daniel Carlson, Hollywood Reporter) comedy about bureaucracy, hope and America at the dawn of the Obama age.

Fans of "The Office" will not be disappointed. At first I had my hesitations because I didn't think the faux documentary style could be duplicated and still produce an original show, but I stuck with it and have not been disappointed. The characters are genuinely funny and original and there are some great lines that will make you laugh out loud. Amy Poehler is as skilled on this show as she was on Saturday Night Live. Definitely worth checking out.Guilty Pleasure - CanAmerican
Shows like this are like watching a co-worker slip on the ice in the parking lot... you feel guilty about thinking it's funny but once you realize nobody got hurt you pee yourself laughing. "Parks & Rec", much like "The Office", makes us bear witness to the train wreck that is bad leadership and stupid employees. We laugh because it's not real but deep down we know it's not really that far off.Love Amy Poehler but hated this show. - nthn2551
Always working when this show was on tv, but always wanting to, I finally added it to my ZipList and was so excited for it to arrive in my mailbox. I put it in with a smile on my face, waiting for it to start. And wow, was I ever disappointed. I love Amy Poehler in movies and on Saturday Night Live but just didn't feel that this show worked. Some jokes were funny, some worked, but most didn't. I will admit that I only gave it two or three episodes as I just didn't want to sit through anymore.
I gave it a shot because of Amy Poehler, so if you really love her, you may like this show. I like her and didn't.
