Californication: Season 4
The People vs. Hank Moody
Life for Hank Moody is never boring... He just can't help himself.
The Showtime original series Californication ended Season Three with the bad-boy novelist being hauled off to jail for assaulting the boyfriend of his troublemaking, underage, former fling Mia. His home life with Karen and Becca is in ruins, but the scandal surrounding the publication of his latest book has turned him into a hot Hollywood commodity - in more ways than one. Can Hank navigate the mess he's made of his life and come out on top? Find out with all 12 debaucherous and decadent Season Four episodes in this 2-disc set.

Season 4 picks right up where season 3 left off. The relationship and chemistry between the hank/runkel characters is great. Favorite scene so far is the bar scene where Runkel tells hank he wants to get his number up to 100. I don't recall the exact quote but hank basically tells runkel that would be impossible even if we was brad pitt.Reality tv - Samiam
Life imitates art. David Duchovny has managed to live his life with remarkable parallels to the characters her plays.
For most of us, when we fall flat on our faces there is a long hard struggle to get back to any semblance of what we were. For Duchovny and his character Hank the bottom only seems to act as a springboard for the next plunge into deeper pool of misogyny (with the exception of his wife and daughter) though that doesn't stop him from dragging them in with him. At the end of each season, they seem to escape only to be dragged back in at the beginning of the next.
Now you would think this is totally unbelievable, but I know personally people just like this. They are charming, funny, self destructive and amazingly hypnotic. If you can't stay away from them, they will pull you in. You will suffer like all the characters around Hank, but they will always bounce back better than ever. This series has captured that character type perfectly. It is truly a wonder to watch.Californication: The Series - Kingmeister
I purposely did not want to watch this series because art mirrors life when he went into sex rehab 2 years ago and his marriage fell apart. I saw him in the Red Shoes Diaries and really liked his character. He plays himself very well in anything he has done.
