Hell bent on vengeance, former Confederate officer Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) travels west in search of the Union soldiers who murdered his wife. His quest leads him to "Hell on Wheels," the dangerous, raucous town that follows the construction of the nation's first transcontinental railroad.
