Sidewalks of New York stars a diverse cast of acclaimed actors, including Edward Burns, Heather Graham, Rosario Dawson, Dennis Farina, David Krumholtz, Brittany Murphy and Stanley Tucci. The film follows the marital and dating lives of three men and three women who unknowingly form a tangled web of relationships. The film weaves a humorous and biting commentary on the game of love- easy to start, hard to finish.

Great movie - brentb
This arty quirky film about a New Years Eve gone wrong in the mid- 80s is one of my favorites. Was the first time I saw Kate Hudson and she is so sweet and funny in this one.
Martha Plimpton is a riot as the overwrought hostess with a failed party on her hands.
Ben Affleck is actually semi-funny for once- he is trying desperately to get into someone's pants- watch and see who he starts the new year with.
Courtney Love and Paul Rudd are friends- she wants to be more but she scares him....
Indy gal J. Garafolo is her dark and dismal chain smoking wisecracking self and fun again.
Dave Chappel is the cabby who tells the tale.

Fun movie. If you were 'there' in the '80's, you will find this strangely reminiscent of those fun times... There's probably more than one scene you can relate to.
The soundtrack is awesome, and love the cameo from Elvis Costello. The whole cast act their parts with flair & style, and it looks like they had some fun doing it. Everytime I see it, I try to count the cigarettes smoked throughout the movie, to see if they add up to 200 ~ repeating the birthday gift given by Courtney Love (she's terrific, btw) to Kevin.
If we have explain it, you wouldn't understand...Excellent movie! - Cricri7
I had never seen this movie and zipped it on a fluke. I don't regret it because it is a nice little movie where the stories intertwine to end up all in one place. It is filled with excellent actors that do a great job. It is not a big budget movie, but a small independant one where the script and the actors do the job!
