Unlike many movies of this genre, 28 Days Later does not rely on just gore and violence to keep the film going. It possesses not only a plot, but a well-thought-out plot! The writers and producers are careful not to leave inconsistencies and gaps in the main story, and this results in a film that depicts a future that is fairly easy to visualize - which adds to the overall horror.Grim, suspenseful, and scary - clauditorium
I'm a sucker for zombie movies; I have yet to see one that doesn't scare the s--t out of me. Technically, this isn't one, but it might as well be. A virus causes people to lose their minds and attack others, either killing or infecting them. Meanwhile a few intact humans navigate the post-apocalyptic landscape, attempting to survive.
Grim, suspenseful, and scary, this movie stayed with me for days. Yet something prevents it from being truly great - I think it's the fact that director Danny Boyle skimps on characterization in favour of style. Like George Romero's original zombie flicks, this one slips in a social message.adding depth to the zombie genre - thisguypossessed
I'm a pretty big fan of zombie movies and this has to be one of the best (even though nitpickers will claim they're not really zombies cause they aint dead).
This film manages to evoke so many moods while maintaining an eerie, edge-of-your-seat intensity. Watching this movie, you experience fear, joy (just try and watch the grocery shopping scene without smiling), anger, and sorrow, yet still come out at the end feeling good because of such a satisfying end.
I enjoyed all the different philosophical viewpoints thrown in as well, such as the debate with the military near the end, where they discuss what it means to "get back to normal".
I really can't say enough good things about this movie, it's a great story with great acting and great cinematography, and you should definitely check it out.
