Never privy to John Woo in his heyday so I can only imagine why they were so popular and influential. Even though the script,acting and productions values are just above well produced pornography. There is magic in the madness of Woos beautiful and bloody action scenes. The last shootout in the gangsters home,even after 20years and hundreds of action movies copying the trademark dual handgun ballet,is still worth the price of admission.
