A Midsummer Night's Dream
"Funny and Sexy!" -The New York Post
A stellar cast, headed by Michelle Pfeiffer and Kevin Kline, bring Shakespeare's most romantic comedy to life. When two pairs of star-crossed lovers, a troop of inept amateur actors, a feuding pair of supernatural sprites and a love potion gone awry all come together in an enchanted moonlit forest, resulting in an unequalled mixture of merriment and magic. Also starring Calista Flockhart, Stanley Tucci and Rupert Everett.

This has to be one of my favorite of Shakespeare's plays and I absolutely love this version of it. You definitely don't need to understand the dialogue to appreciate this movie as the actors did an amazing job at making this story come to life! If you are new to Shakespeare, I would recommend this movie because you will have no trouble understanding what is taking place and it is a joy to watch!Gorgeous! - Ace4
When this movie first came out, I was reluctant to see it because I'm not a big fan of Calista Flockhart. I'm glad I gave it a chance, since it's become one of my favourite movies! The score is lovely, the setting is clever and lavish, and Kevin Kline and Stanley Tucci take the whole thing over the top. Surprisingly (to me, anyway), Calista Flockhart was cast perfectly as Helena--her pouting and sulking were a perfect fit for the character. If your children are studying this play in school, this is a great introduction!Visually stunning - Bookwyrm
I was slightly surprised by the presence of bicycles with lights on them at first, but then found that the slightly different setting enhanced my enjoyment of the movie.
The costumes were fantastic and the sets just fabulous.
Shakespeare isn't really my thing, but I enjoyed this movie despite that. Recomended.
