Above The Law
He was a covert agent trained in Vietnam. He has a master 6th degree black belt in Aikido. He's a cop with an attidude.
Chicago cop Nico Toscani (Steven Seagal) is on to something big. Suspects collared in a drug raid are allowed to walk. And Nico himself is asked to turn in his badge. He may be off the force-but not out of the action.
Steven Seagal tracks ex-CIA operatives trafficking drugs and plotting a political assassination. Fury is unleashed all over the Windy City as Nico and partner Jax (Pam Grier) close in on a psychotic crimelord (Henry Silva). Seagal is a "one-man lethal weapon."

I am not a fan of steven seagal. I honestly think he's better at martial arts than acting... but it wasn't too bad. Sharon Stone as Nico's wife, well I'd say her performance was over the top half the time, she needs to relax a bit. More like she was trying to act for the both of them. Maybe it's just me.
Definatly a good movie if you like good vs. bad and cop films. If you like fighting movies, it's okay for that as well... but if you can't stand steven seagal... stay away. :)A good first movie - Big_Max
Steven Seagal debuts in this movie and it is a good first effort. His later films such as "Hard to Kill", "Marked for Death", "Out for Justice", and "Under Seige" are even better. The last 2 titles mentioned being his absolute best movies.
The action sequences are reasonably good, but after seeing the other titles mentioned it leaves you wanting a little more action.
Sharon Stone also appears as his wife but the role is relatively small. The villian is well play and quite sinister. 3 stars for a good first effort. Not a bad Debut - bUgs1
Above the Law is Seagal's first movie. Very good action sequences with a usual variety of Seagal's lethal moves. The plot jumps at times but still pretty coherent. There are more production notes in this DVD than his other DVD's. Still, it doesn't add significantly to the DVD. The video is dark at times, but other than that, pretty clear.
