Interesting story of love and joie de vivre in France as I know it. Acting is very good. Story has a good theme and you can see what the lead actor is thinking as he goes through job-loss, chronic illness/HIV, seeking out his father so that he can "see what he looks like", and the joy that two people can create together living an honest and interesting life. The events on his vacation are quite believable for me, (some funny, some tragic,) since he is such an approachable character and thus can end up seeing and getting involved in crazy and dangerous stuff travelling alone. It's sub-titled and moves fast enough so as not to bore.JUST OKAY - Ricardo
Definitely a European film, sorta weird but entertaining at the same time. The movie doesn't really have a plot, but at the same time, the lack of plot is what makes the movie move along. I just didn't find it that entertaining, that's all. The acting, however, was not bad, and I probably would have enjoyed it more if my expectations of the movie had been lowerA very very European movie - Unforgettable
The cinematography of this movie is so beautiful that you want to tag along for the ride. The French countryside is so amazingly lush even in the winter. And Felix is so adorably cute. It certainly brought back a lot of memory for some, not a piece of Felix but rather the French countryside. The idea is good, the storyline surprisingly good and some of the the dialogues actually quite witty, given the right circumstances. But somewhere, the movie fell apart. Sorry folks, I have to say, the characters development did not help to bring everything together. Instead, it makes everyone seems either naïve or retarded or eccentric or psychosis. Is that what this movie intended to show case? There are so many wandering exerts/clips that should not have made after the cutting floor.
