America's Sweethearts
A comedy about celebrity, family and other forms of insanity.
Gwen (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Eddie (John Cusack) are America's Sweethearts -- the country's favorite couple, on-screen and off. But when their very public romance turns into a very private breakup, only veteran press agent Lee (Billy Crystal) and Gwen's assistant Kiki (Julia Roberts) can help Gwen and Eddie show some love while they promote their last film together. But the press junket is in a resort hotel miles from anywhere, and while Lee and Kiki frantically try to keep the media away from the real story -- and keep Gwen and Eddie from revealing their secret -- Kiki finds something entirely unexpected in this romantic comedy about true love, happily ever after and other Hollywood endings.

Not Quite Perfect - Old_Video_Man
This is a not quite perfect movie, with a great cast, excellent writing, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, the woman you love to hate. Her character is over the top; she's mildly annoying; and the only major flaw that stops "America's Sweethearts" from being a perfect romantic comedy.
The supporting players are absolutely fabulous, especially Hank Azaria, Stanley Tucci, and Christopher Walken. It's also very refreshing to see Billy Crystal playing a part that isn't all about New York. Great entertainment, but not a 5.Not That Funny - newdaysof
Billy Crystal is one of my favourite actors and screenwriters but even he couldn't turn this film into a success. I think the funniest scene in the film was when Billy Crystal tried to stare down an angry doberman. Other than that, the laughs are pretty thin.
The other reason I didn't really like this film is because I quickly grew tired of Catherine Zeta-Jones and her overbearing spoiled-brat attitude. She plays a rich bitch and I didn't really cared what happened to her or who she ended up sleeping with. John Cusack and Julia Roberts were good as usual, but as actors, they have been in too many films and when I watch them on screen, I don't believe their characters, I just think it's them playing roles.
Christopher Walken as the weird, erratic editor was a nice touch but it stretched credibility and the whole film was just an unbelievable farce.Light hearted film - lister
The film portrays your typical stereotype Hollywood star couple, John Cusack and Catherine Zeta Jones are husband and wives who have grown apart from each other and Julia Roberts play Jones' sister who is also her assistance, who is under appreciated by her sister. I'll let you figure out the rest......
For a romantic comedy, it's okay.... There were some funny parts, a little too forced at times, but if you are looking for a lighthearted film it is good, however it is predictable.
