I'd avoided this movie for years because I heard it wasn't very good, but this week I decided to watch it because...well, only because the new one came out (it's a weakness, I know).
I'm surprised just how sloppy this sequel is, even compared to the others. The structure of the wedding planning is so uneven, and sometimes the fact that there's a wedding doesn't even matter. Perhaps what drove me just as crazy was the awful camera work and the out-of-focus shots. Amateur on so many levels.Sticking to the formula - Dario
The first American Pie was ground breaking, in a way. The second was good and now the final, we hope, movie in the series is predictable. It kept the same characters, same type of plot and same type of sexually comedic routines. Its not bad, in fact, it's pretty good, but its nothing new or surprising about it. If you liked the other 2 you won't be disappointed but you won't be amazed either.DISAPPOINTING BUT WORTH A FEW LAUGHS ~ 2 1/2 Stars - SqueakyChair
Continuity is somehow lacking. It seems to jump from funny scene to funny scene in a stilted manner; however, there are plenty humorous scenarios. I laughed. I preferred the Theatre released version and both versions were on the "Unrated Version" Disc. [THE THEATRE VERSION RATES HIGHER ~ SOLID 3 stars.] It's smoother. But with this i got both :o)

MORE EXTENSIVE THOUGHTS: The Hamilton Ontario native Eugene Levy is still by far the absolutely perfect straight man with the hilariously appropriate range of facial expressions that are peculiar to him. Just like most any successful movie that continues to grind out sequel after sequel this one gets a little thin. But more than anything it seems to be the choppy directing and/or editing that breaks this movie down. And i felt it was way too disproportionately heavy on the abrasive Stifler 'bleep-bleep' humour scenes so that character started to wear a little too thin a whole lot too fast.. Of course this is the Unrated Version and as such has all the language, etc. allowed.

FINAL WORDS: FUNNY BUT SOMEHOW DISAPPOINTING.
