An American Werewolf In London
"A Full-Blooded Horror Film That Happens To Have A Sharp Sense Of Humor!" -Leonard Maltin
It's a rainy night on the Welsh moors. Two American students on a walking tour of Europe trudge on to the next town, when suddenly the air is pierced by an unearthly howl... Three weeks later, one is dead, the other is in the hospital and the nightmare begins for An American Werewolf In London. David Naughton, Griffin Dunne and Jenny Agutter star in the contemporary story of the macabre which takes you from the Welsh moors to Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and the ground of Windsor Castle. It is written and directed by John Landis, the man who brought you National Lampoon's Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Trading Places, Innocent Blood and Coming To America. To add to the chill, there is art direction by Academy Award®-winner Les Dilley of Star Wars and Alien fame and special makeup effects by six-time Academy Award®-winner Rick Baker, whose work includes Star Wars, The Nutty Professor, Tim Burton's Planet Of The Apes, Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Men In Black.

this movie has everything, humor , action , scary bits, suspense
this is a bit older , but the special effects are great , and do not seem out dated. the story line os good , the acting is great.
be aware for those that want to watch with younger children, theres a bit of nudity in a love scene and lots of swearing and gore.Horror + Humour, what's not to like? - SarahG
This movie made me pine for the days when movie make-up and effects were a hands-on art form, in contrast to the CG effects that so many horror films seem to rely on today, (to many a film's detriment). The mixture of horror and comedy is handled very well. I loved the pre-attack bickering between Naughton's character and Dunne's which is continued as the central character is visited periodically by his dead and decaying friend.Classic Werewolf Movie - Movie_Buff_64
I am a big horror movie fan, and werewoves have always been a huge favourite. This movie is easily the most entertaining of all werewolf movies. Everything that was unique and different about the movie, the rock oldies soundtrack, the humour, the raw sexuality, no need for silver bullets, the transformation scenes, etc. worked perfectly. It makes a great companion piece to the other great werewolf movie of 1981, The Howling, a more tradition type of werewolf movie and an impressive b-movie.
