An Evening With Kevin Smith
This edition has the movie spanning two discs, but will be shipped together and treated as only one title on your ZipList.
Silent Bob Speaks
An Evening with Kevin Smith is a no-holds-barred Q & A with one of Hollywood's most gifted filmmakers. Infamous for picking apart the pop culture landscape with films such as Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, the New Jersey native has become a veritable icon of independent film. Smith gives us a new lens to examine spirituality, sexuality, and human relationships. Get up close and - at times - very personal, with the man everyone has been waiting to hear from.... Silent Bob Speaks!
Regarding Religion
"Yes, I believe in God. Why? Because I have a career. There can be no better explanation of proof of the existence of God than the fact that I have a film career."
Regarding Doing a Science Fiction Movie
"A science fiction movie? I think I have made a science fiction movie: Chasing Amy. Because you go ask any lesbian... that'll never happen."
Regarding His Role As Silent Bob
"Why did I give myself the Marcel Marceau part? I can't really act."

Great storyteller - Poet
I love this title. I find it simply amazing to watch Kevin Smith, one of my favorite movie directors, field questions from the audience and the proceed to tell a story for up to 30 minutes sometimes. All through those stories, he remain funny and witty, and he manages to keep your attention. In the end, you keep wanting more and more.
Here, we get to see a great storyteller at work. Well worth a watch, you won't regret it.An Evening With Kevin Smith is Not Just for Fans - TheShamus
Kevin Smith is the writer/director/actor responsible for such movies as "Dogma", "Chasing Amy", "Clerks" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". Even if you do not like any of these movies, it does not mean you will not enjoy, "An Evening With Kevin Smith". Why?
The format of the film is a Q & A session from multiple American colleges (Smith's movies are very popular with this demographic). What you end up with is a surprisingly polished, mostly improvisational series of entertaining truths about the life of Kevin Smith (which also encompasses life in Hollywood).
Smith is impressively funny, charming, humble and refreshingly truthful in answering questions from his fans (and some non-fans).
If you are offended by sexual references and bad language, you will want to steer clear of this DVD.
Smith's tells some great stories about well known figures such as Ben Affleck, Prince, and Tim Burton (and Smith is not afraid to dish the dirt).
Ironically, "An Evening" is actually a collection of evenings -- but Smith's connection to his audience is obvious. There is great insight into the workings of Hollywood -- and Kevin Smith manages to come across as "an ordinary guy".
You may not like his work, but it's difficult not to like the guy or his uncanny ability to relate a story.

You don't have to be a fan of Kevin Smith's movies to enjoy this DVD but it sure help. There are several references to Mallrats, Clerks,Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back which gives the whole thing a frame of refference. Kevin is an amazing storyteller, it's a joy to watch him spin a tale. Although I have seen this several times before (while it ran on TMN) I can sit and watch all 4+ hours without getting boared. Language is sometimes raw so if you are easily offended, you might want to pass on this one, otherwise, a must see
