Amazing Classic Love Story! - MrsH
I will start by saying they simply don't make movies like this anymore!!!! This movie was made in 1982 if I am not mistaken and is one of my favorites to this day, despite the fact that I wasn't even born! Richard Gere show such raw talent of this handsome, mysterious man with a trouble past who wants to be come a naval pilot. Along the way he make a best friend and tragedy seperates them but in the end he has found the one thing that he was truly searching for. Someone to love him. With an amazing soundtrack that includes Pat Benetar and a rendition of Tie a Yellow Ribbon this movie will keep you interested! Not to mention the iconic scene to Up Where We Belong!Great film - Pumon
This is a fantastic film that makes you wish that you could travel into the television screen and live their life through them. This movie was some fantastic memorable footage. No wonder that this movie is a modern day classic. Definite movie to watch and recommend to othersenjoyed it - CWB55
I watched this one because I have heard so much about it, and I'm a Richard Gere fan. Let's just say that I was not disappointed. This interesting story held my attention and the actors portrayed convincing characters that made the audience really care about them. I thought that the Foley and Mayo characters were very real interpretations. They could have really exaggerated Foley's role as the tough sergeant, but it was nice to see his human side. I could relate to the film, seeing it for the first time 28 years later, which in my mind makes it a classic. However, this would not be one that I would watch over and over again, as I'm not the biggest military movie fan.
