I know many viewers really liked this film but I found it dated and slow. the story really didn't bring us anywhere and there were hardly any revelations.
i did love the opening sequence that was a very brilliant and original opening but the movie went downhill after that.SO Sweet - StanwyckFan
I won't spoil anything with this review. All i have to say is that the camaraderie of the shipmates delighted me and more often that once i said out loud "aw!". Movies where people act like human beings are so rare and so nice to see. Kindness is depleting in the world, so it's so refreshing to see on screen. this was heartfelt, beautiful and magnificent. And as with all Felini's movies, in the first ten minutes i was thinking, 'am i gonna get this?' but then as with everything else he's made, it pays to push through and you are thrust into a world that is rewarding and triumphant.Fellini's best...Grade: A- - Josh_Shapps
Wow!!..not a fan of Fellini, but this film was amazing!..Stick with it, it is great from begining to end!...The pace is quick, just when scenes start to drag, it picks up to the next scene...the first sequence is spectacular, the rest is like a play. Great sets, and visually the greatest of Fellini's work. A great film. Grade:A-
