Fantastic - Heavy
This movie was excellent!! I can't believe how some people can actually claim the 1982 version was better. This version followed the REAL plot closely. I would like to point out to the ignorant type that the 1982 version is NOT the original Annie. Annie was a Broadway play and the 1982 version absolutely ruined the heart of the play. This version wasn't perfect, but definately much better.Lame Version - FilmJunkie
Nowhere near as good as the original. This film is a lamer, tamer version of the movie I knew and loved as a child.
Everytime you hear Kathy Bates, you want to think of Carol Burnett...why did they even bother?
Some adaptations make sense, this is not one of them.Not Like Annie.. - JJ3-
While taming down the headmistress' bad habits, this version of Annie is sadly lacking the comic finesse of the druken Carol Burnette. I did not find the characters endearing in any way, and while they had some "big" Hollywood names, their performances lacked enthusiasm. Stick with the original version of this movie and you can't go wrong.
