Antz
Every Ant Has His Day.
Life is no picnic for Z, a small worker ant with some very big ideas whose chances of landing the beautiful Princess Bala are literally one in a billion. But when Z convinces his soldier ant buddy Weaver to switch places with him, his simple life takes a wild turn. From his battles in the termite war to his search for "Insectopis," Z's adventures land him in a final confrontation with the ruthless General Mandible who has planned to liquidate the colony.
Once the most insignificant of workers, Z may just turn out to be the biggest hero of them all!

If you haven't seen this, its worth a watch! I hadn't seen it in years, but I still love it. I think the window into the 'ant world' is very well done. It mirrors perfectly the 'ants life', but as with many of these types of movies, the embellished dialogue that could potentially go on, makes the whole experience lots of fun!Epic History - PowerPipes
When you consider this movie at the time of this review is already a decade old and it still holds tremendous re-watch value the accomplishments are really fantastic. Antz offers a great mix of adult and kids humor with excellent voice over / acting, a fantastic cast and a great plot line.
There are some difficult topics involved if you decide to watch this with a younger crowd such as death and war, but beyond that I wouldn’t hesitate to share this with the family. CGI has really taken over the animation world of the day and Antz stands as the foundation standard.
Consider when watching this that Antz was one of (if not the) first productions from DreamWorks Animation. While today small tweaks and improvements are distinguishable it is clear by watching this why DreamWorks has evolved to the monolithic empire it is today. The foundation of standards and excellence were establish definitively within Antz and followed up upon with each subsequent title.Less engaging than A Bug's life - imagination201
I went into this movie expecting something along the enrapturing storytelling of A Bug's life and instead got a more down-to-earth story, very little humor, and a rather monochromous background. Everything to endanger my interest when I'm looking to escape reality.
However, if you're looking for a good story for the children, with a good morale and animation, then it is a good choice.
