Anything Else
In any relationship, one person always does the heavy lifting.
Jason Biggs (American Pie) and Christina Ricci (Sleepy Hollow) star in Woody Allen's latest comedy romp that proves love at first sight isn't like "anything else." When an aspiring young writer falls head over heels with a free-spirited, hard-to-please young woman, he soon discovers he's going to have to work doubly hard to make their love work. Anything Else is a hysterical look at modern romance that keeps the laughs coming as their relationship spins wildly out of control!

Allen experiments with the structure of this story and i think he succeeds. Where he stumbles a little is with the character development of his protagonist.
This is more a humourous film than a comedy. It's not one of his best efforts but definitely worth watching.Watch anything else (not this movie) - Crumit
As a Woody Allen fan, I'm willing to cut the guy some slack. But not this much slack. This was an awkward, static, badly acted, unfunny mess. (Actually the few chuckles there were came from Woody Allen himself, but I was feeling so resentful of him by that point that I didn't care.) This movie will hurt you. It will make you want to hurl yourself on the floor and pound your fists in remorse for the two hours that have been lost from your life. Be kind to yourself and zip Annie Hall instead. Or Love and Death. Anything...good, but I was expecting more - JM2-
On the one hand, this movie draws more from Woody's early rom-com successes (Annie Hall, Hannah and Her Sisters, Manhattan) than it does from his recent dabbling in suspense (Match Point). On the other hand, it never quite gets going as a compelling story. Certain characters are fascinating at times, but on the whole the film seems like little more than Woody Allen and an Allen-esque Jason Biggs having a whine and stutter contest. Highlights: Danny DeVito and Stockard Channing.
