BAD TASTE is so bad, it's good. :)
it's got the things you want in a b-movie: green goo, aliens, bad effects, barely any dialog... and it has sheep too!
it does exactly what you'd expect it to: either leave you staring wide-eyed in total disbelief, or laughing 'til your belly hurts.
for those of you who are interested in seeing where the great peter jackson started, you really got to get LOTR/KONG out of your head before watching this.I liked it. - kone
Not a great flick, but it is interesting to watch just for the sake of seeing a well made movie on a very small budget. It's inspiring. When it started I almost turned it off because I thought it would suck the whole way through... but luckily it later picks up a bit with the humor and the plot. Some very funny scenes and some nasty but fake looking gore. Problem is that you sometimes have to wait to long to get to the good parts. For a first film with no budget, Peter Jackson did a great job!Classy - MountainMan
While it's not quite Army of Darkness, this movie is right up there in the cheesy horror film department. I didn't even notice that Peter Jackson was the director until the end, so I had to go online and see if it was THE Peter Jackson.
This film had a big enough budget that it wasn't painfuil to sit through the special effects, but you do have to be in the mood to laugh at them. This movie was never intended to be "serious" or "dramatic" like dence Day, more and "exploding bits and one-liners" such as Evil Dead or Mars Attacks.
In all though, it's worth it just to see how a man like Peter Jackson did special effects before he had the massive budgets of his current releases.
