Barefoot In The Park
Master of Broadway comedy Neil Simon adapted his hit play about a conservative young lawyer and his off-the-wall bride for this warm film classic.
Robert Redford is Mister Straight. Jane Fonda is his new wife, who dedicates her life to the pursuit of fun. As the ecstasy of the honeymoon gives way to the reality of setting up housekeeping in a five-flight walk-up, the harmony of marriage turns to comical discord. The mother-in-law complains meekly. The middle-aged Lothario upstairs flirts. Joy turns to anguish. There is little doubt that the young people will kiss and make up by the end of the picture, just as there’s little doubt that the mother and the neighbor will find each other. Fonda and Redford make a wonderfully successful comedy team.

This is a great romantic comedy! The story is charming, and all the unique characters are really funny. This is one of my all time favourite rom coms, I'm surprised they haven't tried remaking it! If you ever get a chance to watch this movie, give it a try, it is worth it!A great 60's film! - Movies4Robb
I stumbled on this unknown (to me anyway) film, however, definitely knew the two major stars of it. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this film with it's rich funny characters. I actually laughed which doesn't come easy for me. Great to see Jane Fonda and Robert Redford together doing their thing in NYC. A great afternoon movie during a rainy day. Truly a classic in my books!Barefoot In The Park - TheWiz
These 2 were new stars for the 60's and they were selling a new type of romantic comedy at the time. As with everything 60's, this is a non conformist movie designed to appease the new generation of movie goers while maintaining some familiarity with the older style golden era romantic comedies.
Both charaters are "easy-on-the-eyes" and they are surrounded by a wonderful cast of quirky characters and off beat events.
Acting from Fonda and Redford is, well, as you would expect from 2 softmores; so-so.
The story brought back memories of when I first left home to live away from the family and I am certain that you will have your own journey back in time when you watch this flick.
