I absolutely love this movie - I can see how a lot of people dislike it, it's very obtuse and overlong. But nevertheless, I always found it fascinating. I saw it when I first came out when I was about 16 and couldn't figure it out for the life of me, but I couldn't stop thinking about it either. Watching it now as an adult, I still found it a bit confusing though a lot of it was clearer. I went back and read the book after seeing it again to clear up some loose ends. A great movie that has plenty of reasons to respect it, even if you don't enjoy watching it.beloved - jacksonbaby
Ok - WOW! WOW not in a good way! I almost turned this movie off ten minutes into it but deceded to give it a go. I have never seen a movie that was so boring yet interesting in my whole life. I honestly think I won't forget this movie for very bizarre and peculiar reasons. I am sorry I wasted almost three hours - three hours I won't ever get back.Understandable Why This Tanked at the Box Office - E
I doubt that even a prior knowledge from the book this is based on would have made this any better. It is not that I do not like interpretative movies - I am a fan of "Titus" - but I honestly do not think this movie benefited by the "red evil light" and flying dog with the dangling eyeball. There is no disputing the abolute horrors in black slave history, but I am not sure if this was the best method for showing it. I did not enjoy this film, and recommend ZIP members to give it a miss.
