Bicentennial Man
One robot's 200-year journey to become an ordinary man.
From the acclaimed director of Mrs. Doubtfire, Academy Award winner Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting) stars in a delightfully heartwarming comedy about one extraordinary android who just wants to be an ordinary guy! Though he was purchased as a mere "household appliance," it doesn't take long for the Martin family to realize Andrew (Williams) is no run-of-the-mill robot! Funny, incredibly lifelike and possessing an astounding level of creativity, this special machine soon takes on a life of his own -- and eventually begins a centuries-long quest to achieve true humanity! A crowd-pleasing comedy hit -- everyone is sure to love this touchingly entertaining movie treat!

Robin Williams has been blessed with the talent of entertaining others in his own special way; the Bobby McFerrin of acting.
Asimov, Silverberg & Kazan have marvelously scripted a movie about how much we take our humanity for granted.
The casting job by Hirshenson & Jenkins and the acting is outstanding. Davidtz, Neill, Platt, Warren all the way to Thigpen - superb.
Did I mention the soundtrack - James Horner scores huge on this one.
I don't bother with plots when I write my reviews, but I will say that this film has it all: smart, intellectual, challenging, twists & turns, all types of humour, joy, sadness, ect.
This is not "Golden Era" filmaking as there is a reliance on CGI or some form of it; but the acting, script and most importantly 'the rhythm' of the movie overcome it.
A Classic in it's genre.Excellent Performance - Mikhail
Robin Williams gives an excellent performance in this Oscar nomianted movie adaptation of a story written by Isaac Asimov.
In Bicentennial man, Williams portrays "Andrew Martin", a robot who begins to question his place in the world and the reason for his existence. We follow him on his adventures in a world where he doesn't quite fit - yet feels that he has a right to.
The movie, although rooted in the works of a science fiction master, has much to offer to all audiences. Williams humour and physical comedy help make Bicentennail man a "don't miss it" movie.Isaac Asimov fan must see! - Cemetery_man
Robin Williams is brilliant, in this Asimov classic. The effects are great, The story is true to the orignal and the ending brought it all together. I would put this one up there with AI, as far as story goes but it did lack in effects when compaird. But if you liked AI you will love Bicentennial Man it was Great.
