Big
Have You Ever Had A Really Big Secret?
Tom Hanks won raves for his Oscar nominated performance (1988, Best Actor) as a twelve-year-old boy trapped inside a thirty year old body in director Penny Marshall's winning comedy.
At a carnival, young Josh Baskin (Hanks) wishes he was big - only to awake the next morning and discover he is! With the help of his friend Billy (Jared Rushton), Josh lands a job at a toy company. There, his inner wisdom enables him to successfully predict what children want to buy, making the awestruck, naïve Josh irresistible to a beautiful ladder-climbing colleague (Elizabeth Perkins). But the more he experiences being an adult, the more Josh longs for the simple joys of childhood.

Nobody hates Tom Hanks but me, apparently. Anyhoo - bottom line - Tom's best performance? Alcoholic Uncle Ned in Family Ties. Remember when he drank the vanilla? And punched Alex? Good times, good times. That's Tom at his finest. Big is vastly superior to say, freakin' Castaway - there's two hours of my life I'll never get back - but it still stars Tom Hanks.Awesome - In_a_nut_shell
Makes you want to have an apartment with a trampoline! Don't grow up kids, watch this film to find out why!

Fantastic movie! Big is a combination of comedy, fantasy and romance. Tom Hanks is brilliant as the “child in an adult's body”, playing the role very matter-of-factly, without hamming it up. His innocence is totally believable and spot-on in its consistency with an adolescent view of the world. Watching this movie is an entertaining and heart-warming experience. Don't miss thiss one!
